Twelve Angry Men
It’s the ultimate jury deliberation story. A teenage delinquent is accused of stabbing his abusive father to death in a moment of rage.
The twelve-man jury has listened to the testimony of the witnesses, making it seem to be an open and shut case. They must now decide the boy’s fate, and the death penalty is in the boy’s future.
In the first vote, eleven of the jurors know the boy is guilty of premeditated murder. But one man isn’t sure, juror #8. He wants more information.
He asks the other members of the jury to review each fact, each piece of evidence and each witness, causing the jury to not only reexamine the facts, but to examine the definition of reasonable doubt and in the process, their own notion of justice and personal prejudices.
The compelling drama was made into an Academy Award-nominated movie (best picture, director, writing and screenplay), with Henry Fonda in the staring role as “juror #8″.
