Monument Monday - A Recap

Is there a town in America with more monuments and memorials than Washington, DC?  I doubt it.

So with so many of them, it’s easy to miss a few, so here’s a recap of Monument Monday posts from the past few months.

  • The Jefferson Memorial - “Hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.”
  • The Vietnam Veterans Memorial - 58,000 names, 58,000 lives cut short.
  • National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial - Since the first killing of a police officer in 1792, more than 17,500 more have died in the line of duty.
  • And in case you missed last Monday’s The DC Traveler,  I wrote about the National World War II Memorial, dedicated to America’s greatest generation.

And yes, there are tons more — some big and well-known, some hidden away and mostly forgotten. So keep tuning in to The DC Traveler on Mondays for more Monument Mondays.
