National Christmas Tree Lighting Tickets Available Nov. 3rd

National Christmas Tree Lighting Have we started the holiday season already??

The date for getting in line for tickets for the National Christmas Tree Lighting & Pageant Of Peace is set.

Tickets will be available this Saturday, November 3rd, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The tree lighting will take place on  Thursday, December 6th, at 5:00 p.m., on the Ellipse, south of the White House. 

In its 83rd year, this annual event was begun by President Calvin Coolidge on Christmas Eve in 1923.

Dates and Times - Ticket distribution starts at 8:00 a.m. and continues until all tickets are distributed. Plan on arriving VERY early is you want tickets.

National Christmas Tree 2006 Tickets - Tickets are free, however only 2,800 tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are limited to 4 tickets per person. For additional information click here.

Nearest Metro Subway Station - Farragut West, Blue and Orange line, then a 4-block walk

Parking - Metered street parking is available in the area and should be easy before 8:00 a.m. within a few block walk.
