Sully Quilt Show - Sept. 9th
The art of quilting goes back tot the days of the knights of the Crusades, when cold soldiers needed warm clothing and protection from their armor chaffing their skin. Throughout American history, Quilts have been an American art form since Colonial times, usually created by women of all classes - rich, poor and even slave.
The styles vary from the simple American Amish quilt to the multi-patterned block Baltimore style. Whole cloth and patchwork are the most common quilts, but also applique, embroidery, painted fabric, collage, needlepoint and even spray paint has been used to craft quilts. From symmetrical patterns to a random designs, each quilt is a quilter’s work of art. Some, even tell a story.
Explore new and antique quilts, books, patterns and other quilting supplies from over 60 vendors at this, the 32nd annual Sully Quilt Show and Sale.
There will be demonstrations and informal talks on quilting, music, activities for the kids, and even on-site appraisals for your heirloom quilt.
A tour of the plantation house is included with admission.

Tickets - Adults - $8.00, kids - Seniors - $7.00, kids - $5.00, and are available onsite. Ticket prices in include admission to the plantation and self-guided tour of the grounds.
Parking - Limited free onsite parking is available.
