Fasten Your Seat Belts…Virginia Beach Air Show
Watch the Navy’s Blue Angles in their F/A 18 Hornets perform their precision flying routine, numerous aerobatic champions, current and vintage military aircraft, world’s only husband-and-wife aerobatic and skywriting duo and a couple skydiving teams at the Oceana Air Show in Virginia Beach.
Scheduled to appear at the show are:
- The ever-popular and crowd pleasing Blue Angels’.
- The awesome F/A-18C Hornet doing high-speed, high “G” maneuvers.
- The cylinder-topped Navy E-2C Hawkeye tactical airborne warning and control plane.
- The new breed of super-fighter, the F-22 Raptor.
- Vintage prop warbirds flying along side modern high-tech jets from the Navy’s Legacy Flight Program.
- Simulated air attacks, complete with pyrotechnics, smoke and explosions.
- The British Army Red Devils parachute team.
- An F-86 being flown to the edge of its performance capabilities in speed, turning capability, climb rate and altitude.

Naval Air Station Oceana
16 miles East of the City of Norfolk
Virginia Beach, VA (about 200 miles or 3 hours from DC)
Dates and Times - Friday, Sept. 7th - evening show starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and , Sept. 8th and 9th - gates open at 8:00 a.m. and the air shows start around 10:00 a.m. The Blue Angels performance is scheduled between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m.
Tickets - Admission is free, with reserved paid seats also available.![]()

- General Seats: $8.00
- Reserved Seats: $12.00
- Executive Squadron Chalet: $50.00 and includes lunch and snacks, unlimited beverages and soft drinks

NOTE - The event is held on an active military base, so attendees are subject to search. Prohibited items include food, coolers, large bags and backpacks, pets, and alcohol. Food and drinks are available for sale. Folding chairs are allowed.

the video was awesome it was so cool. im going to see it this weekend
Sadly, one of the performers who flys with the WW-II Skytypers Air Show Team was killed on Friday during a landing after practicing for the show.

The last time i saw the blue angles do that trick was in the last sea fair in Seattle WA.
