It is with great honor that our local school band was chosen to participate in the 2007 Memorial Day Parade in Washington DC. I was a chaperone for the Everett Area High School Marching Band from Everett, Pennsylvania and had the privilege to march with the band. We were 149 out of 165 units and we had a long wait but it was well worth it to be able to march in Washington D.C and know we were honoring our country men and women who have served and are now serving our country. We were extremely honored to have our students play “TAPS” at the 3:00 hour. We are very proud of our band and its fearless leader, Mr. Daniel Atwood, who puts in many long hours with the students. Brt those long hours and days pays off in the end. Because of that dedication we were in Washington D.C May 28, 2007 for the parade. Thank you again for the honor.
