Capital Pride Parade and Festival - June 1-10
The ten day long Capital Pride Festival celebrates Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community pride. There’s dances, parties, events, and a Mr. and Miss Capital Pride competition (complete with judging for pride attire, talent, formal wear/evening gown and interviews). There’s also some good cause fund-raising including a bachelor and bachelorette auction with restaurant certificates, theater tickets and more. A Mr. and Ms. Capital Pride Leather competition is another highlight event.

The featured event is the Capital Pride Parade with over 100 contingents and tons of spectators. Chances are you’ll see a troupe of gay dancing cowboys, drag queens, mermaids, marching bands, swim teams and even a couple politicians as they match, parade or ride by on floats. The parade is always a fun event. See anticipated route map below.
Many of the events are held at night clubs and bars and are for the 21 and over crowd. And the parade is adult- themed and not really geared towards young children, due to some of the racy costumes and themes.

Some of the highlights include:
- Mr. / Miss Capital Pride Pageant - $15.00 cover at both, 18 & over, 21+ to drink
